Electrophysiology & RFA
An electrophysiology (EP) study is an invasive cardiac procedure that involves a series of tests to determine the electrical activity of the heart. The electrical system of the heart operates on impulses that regulate the timing of heartbeats. It allows doctors to generate a detailed activity map and determine where the abnormalities are coming from.
Who Need Electrophysiology study test?
There are numerous indications of why you may need to take these tests. These tests will give your cardiologist a clear picture of your heart's electrical issues. As a result, they can prescribe the most appropriate treatment for you. Some of the symptoms may be:

Radiofrequency Ablation
The most effective way to treat these abnormal rhythms is to destroy the tissue that contains the abnormal electric circuitry (arrhythmia). This process of eliminating defective tissue is known as ablation and is carried out using radiofrequency ablation (RFA). RFA can cure many arrhythmias in 90-98% of cases.
